The 2017 Kernewek Lowender Ambassador Program officially launched on Tuesday 15th November 2016.

The Kernewek Lowender committee is proud to introduce new Ambassador Coordinator Christy Western.

The program was relaunched in 2015 taking over the May Queen Program to the Ambassador Program with the intention to attract both male and female entrants.  This year the age group has opened to 18 and over to encourage youth and adults to be involved.

New coordinator Christy is excited to be involved with the program and has some fun fresh new ideas to develop entrants skills and get them involved as much as possible. She would love to see some local males join the program. We have a huge prize pool for entrants with of $500 worth of prizes kindly donated by Woolworths, Moonta Dental, Hair By Heather, Revive, Moonta Bay Patio and Motel and Country Living Homewares.

Entrants will need to be available to do promotional activities in the region and possibly Adelaide from approximately March 2017 to Kernewek Lowender week, 15-21 May 2017. Activities will include spruiking the festival at community events and shopping centres, selling raffle tickets, participating in the Procession, Bard Ceremony, Official Welcome, Merchandise stand and helping run festival events such as the Cousin Jack and Jenny competition and the Pasty Bake Off.

Entrants are required to seek a sponsor ($200 outlay) whose business name will feature on entrants sashes to be worn at all public appearances.

Judging will comprise of an interview process, with criteria to include knowledge of the Copper Coast region and its Cornish heritage; willingness to promote Kernewek Lowender; presentation; and social and communication skills.
